Quirino Province — Waves of payouts for the labor department’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program benefitted more than a thousand beneficiaries from various municipalities of Quirino. The payouts were spread on different dates in the month January as a continuation of payouts held in December 2021.
The payouts were led by the Department of Labor and Employment - Quirino Field Office (DOLE-QFO) alongside partner agencies and the Provincial Government of Quirino.
On January 3, the DOLE-QFO in cooperation with the Kilusang Pagbabago Partylist, assisted ten beneficiaries from Barangay Dingasan in Cabarroguis town.
Some 254 TUPAD beneficiaries from the municipality of Nagtipunan meanwhile received their TUPAD stipend on January 6, 2022. The beneficiaries were identified in partnership with the Philippine Electric Cooperatives Association, Inc. (PHILRECA).
The event was led by DOLE-QFO Head Laura B. Diciano and her team, PHILRECA Representative Hon. Presley C. De Jesus, and the Local Government of Nagtipunan. Another 72 TUPAD beneficiaries received their salary through money remittance, identified in partnership with the Magdalo Partylist.
Set of payouts to benefit a total of 1,652 TUPAD beneficiaries from different municipalities commenced on January 25 and will continue for the rest of the month.
“Nais kong iparating ang aking pasasalamat kay Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III, kay Ma’am Laura dahil sobrang laki ng tulong na ito sa mga Quirinians. Maraming salamat sa inyo,” Governor Dakila Cua said in his speech during the payout.
“It is the DOLE’s aim to help our constituents and TUPAD is one of our programs meant to assist informal sector workers,” she added.
The TUPAD beneficiaries performed agro-forestry community projects for ten days. Each of them received P3,700.00 for their hard work thereafter. ###
