SENA eases release of over P60K in labor dispute settlement

Cabarroguis, Quirino - The DOLE RO2 through its Quirino Field Office (QFO) paved the way for settlement of labor disputes on monetary claims amounting to a total of P69,200 to workers from three establishments in this province.

The monetary award is a result of the labor department’s Single Entry Approach (SEnA), a 30-day mandatory conciliation-mediation which seeks to provide a speedy, impartial, inexpensive, and accessible settlement services for unresolved grievances and complaints arising from employer-employee relations.

Earlier this month, the workers filed for Request for Assistance (RFA) before DOLE-QFO Chief Laura B. Diciano, the field office’s designated Single Entry Approach Desk Officer (SEADO),  to resolve issues against their employers involving non-payment of wages, holiday pay, premium pay, 13th month pay and refund for cash bond.

Thereafter, conciliation-mediation conferences were initiated which then resulted in the speedy settlement of the received requests.

Louella Macato, sales associate/administrative officer from Saguday, Quirino was granted ?60,000 representing her unpaid wages for 3.5 months, holiday pay, premium pay and pro-rated 13th month pay from her company.

Alvin Mangupag, former driver from Diffun town received ?4,200 covering his cash bond from his former company while Leo Boy A. Tying, former sales associate, got paid for his 13th month pay amounting to ?5,000.

The above-mentioned undertakings push the field office’s settlement and disposition rate to 100% out of three total RFAs received. ###
