The Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office No. 2 (DOLE RO2), in partnership with Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of the City of Ilagan, Isabela, conducted a JobStart orientation to 83 trainees at Ilagan City Hotel, Isabela on May 22, 2023.

The event was held through the initiative of Provincial Labor Sector Representative, Board Member Evyn Jay Diaz, City Vice Mayor Kyrill S. Bello and DOLE-IFO Chief, Evelyn Yango.

The Members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Ilagan, DOLE staff and PESO Ilagan Staff were also present during the activity.

In his message, City Councilor Mr. Antonio Manaligod, Jr. highlighted how blessed the City of Ilagan is to be chosen as implementing area of the JobStart program. He also emphasized the importance of laborers in the Labor Market.

“Wag po natin hamakin na tayo ay isang manggagawa lang. Wala pong malalaking negosyo ang uunlad kung wala ang mga manggagawa,” Manaligod said.

Board Member EJay Diaz meanwhile expressed his gratitude to DOLE for the programs that it implements in the province of Isabela while at the same time expressing their willingness to collaborate with the agency for the swift implementation of its programs and services.

Meanwhile, the trainees signed a participation agreement and are set to have the Life Skills Training on May 25, 2023. ###
