The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) through its Nueva Vizcaya Field Office (NVFO) awarded a check for a Kabuhayan Starter Kit Package amounting to P4,370,955.10 to 191 skilled workers in the informal sector and parents of child laborers from five (5) towns of Nueva Vizcaya province recently.  

A check amounting to P880,205 was awarded to LGU Ambaguio on March 14, 2023, P650,000 and P473,666.72 awarded to LGU Bayombong on March 27, P620,000 to LGU Aritao March 30, P400,000 to LGU Dupax Del Sur on April 3 and P592,083.40 and P750,000 awarded to LGU Diadi on April 4.

The assistance shall support the beneficiaries’ individual projects on carpentry, welding, dress making/tailoring, food vending, automotive services, baking, electronic repair services, hair dressing, massage services, sari-sari store, sari-sari store with bigasan, snack vending, street food vending, rice retailing, plumbing services, kakanin vending, food processing, meat processing, auto-mechanic services, electrical services, masonry, vulcanizing, manicure, pedicure, hair color and rebond services, snack and frozen vending, and gardening.

The DOLE’s Kabuhayan program reduces the vulnerability to risks of the poor, vulnerable and marginalized workers by providing them access to a grant fund assistance for capacity-building on livelihood ventures either for individual or group undertakings. ###
