1,075 displaced workers receive TUPAD salaries in Cagayan

 

1,075 displaced/disadvantaged workers received their salaries amounting to P4,515,000.00 through the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program during a series of payouts held from March 31 to April 3, 2023 for the municipalities of Gonzaga, Camalaniugan, Alcala, Solana and Tuguegarao City.

The said payout was facilitated by the DOLE – Cagayan Field Office (CFO) in partnership with the Office of Vice Governor Melvin K. Vargas, with the latter personally appearing to attend the said payouts.  

Cagayan 3rd District Board Members Atty. Mila Lauigan, Pastor Ross Rosuello and Leonides “Odi” Fausto Sr., Tuguegarao City Councilor Boyet Ortiz also attended the said payouts. Solana Municipal Mayor Jennalyn Carag and Camalaniugan Vice Mayor Jamuel O. Rosario meanwhile attended the payout in their respective LGUs. 

In a message, Vice Governor Melvin “Boy” K. Vargas expressed his immense gratitude to the DOLE for the continuous support and implementation of the TUPAD program that alleviates poverty and empower disadvantaged individuals, families and communities to improve their living condition.

The DOLE-CFO was represented by Senior Labor Employment Officer, Reynald T. Alan, Labor Employment Officer III, Lani Jane D. Delos Santos and other field office support personnel.

Each beneficiary received P4,200.00 for rendering 10 days of community work involving bamboo tree planting at riverbanks, de-clogging of canals, street cleaning including interior ‘puroks’ and cutting of trees along highways in their respective towns. ###
