San Mariano, Isabela - The DOLE-Isabela Field Office (IFO) in partnership with the Local Government Unit of San Mariano, Isabela recently held an orientation on Labor Market Information (LMI) and General Labor Standards (GLS) to Grade 10-12 students from 4 National High Schools in the Barangays’ of Alibadabad, Ueg, Daragutan East and San Mariano National High School.
Ms. Kathleen Aquino, Senior Labor and Employment Officer and Mr. Ralph Earl Wayne Domingo, Labor and Employment Officer II discussed the LMI for the year and its projection for the years’ 2022-2025, in demand careers and emerging industries.
Meanwhile, Mr. Romeo Solomon A. Sales, Jr., Assistant Labor Inspector (ALI) discussed the GLS to increase the awareness of the participants of their rights and responsibilities as future workers.
LMI provides timely relevant and accurate signals on the current labor market such as in-demand jobs and skills shortages by developing client-specific LMI and Education and Communication materials. The material is part of the commitment of the DOLE to support the Career Guidance Advocacy Program – a convergence program under the Human Development and Poverty reduction cluster which seeks to promote career guidance as tool in assisting jobseekers particularly students in making informed career choices. ###
