City of Ilagan, Isabela – Forty-nine (49) youth jobseekers were able to secure jobs to kickstart their professional careers, thanks to the DOLE’s JobStart Program and its 10-day Life Skills Training (LST) that aims to shorten the school-to-work transition of at-risk youth through the provision of training that will lead to productive employment.
The encouraging figure comes from a total of 100 youth jobseekers who underwent the 10-day LST in Santiago City, Isabela.
The JobStart Program consist of three levels of intervention, first with the LST, followed by a technical training with partner training institutions and finally, an internship portion with partner employers.
33 of the said beneficiaries were able to hurdle the technical training and another 19 completed their internship.
The reported figures were presented during a JobStart Orientation and Calibration of Regional and Provincial implementers held at the City of Ilagan Hotel, Ilagan City, Isabela last February 3, 2023.
The event was led by the DOLE-Isabela Field Office (IFO) head, Ms. Evelyn Yango and Ms. Kathlyn Sabado, Unit Head of the DOLE RO2’s Employment Unit, assisted by Mr. Jonnel Domingo and Ms. Rachel Calayan, DOLE RO2 JobStart personnel as well as staff from the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of Ilagan City and Santiago City. ###
