Five (5) workers from various establishments recently received P501,724.97 in monetary claims facilitated by the Department of Labor and Employment – Quirino Field Office (DOLE-QFO) and after their request for assistance were processed through the DOLE’s Single-Entry Approach (SEnA) for a speedier and inexpensive settlement procedure of all labor disputes.
Provincial Director Geraldine B. Labayani, assigned Single Entry Assistance Desk Officer (SEADO) of the Field Office, facilitated the settlement of the workers’ request, facilitating two conferences conducted through a virtual platform to lessen the travel difficulties of the employers who are located in Metro Manila.
The other request was conducted face-to-face as agreed by both the employer’s representative and the workers. After some series of negotiations, the parties finally reached an amicable settlement.
A former security guard from Diffun, Quirino received a total of P276,554.74 as separation money and his unpaid 13th month wage after working for a security firm in Metro Manila for 15 years.
Another security guard from the same town received his long overdue claims worth P160,170.00, which covers his cash bond and separation pay from his firm, which was also located in Manila.
The other three are baristas from a shop in Cabarroguis, Quirino who got paid a total of P65,000.00.
The DOLE-QFO has recorded a 100% settlement rate for labor complaints lodged through SEnA so far for the year. ###
