Tuguegarao City, Cagayan - Three (3) workers from Sanchez Mira, Cagayan who works for a firm in the aforementioned town can now breathe a sigh of relief after receiving a check worth P265,482.90 covering non-payment of various benefits at the Technical Support Services Division (TSSD) of the DOLE-Regional Office No. 02 on February 13, 2023.
The amount covers payment for General Labor Standards (GLS) violations, to include underpayment of minimum wage under RTWPB Wage Order No. 21, non-payment of premium pay for rest days and special holidays, non-payment of regular holiday pays, 13th month pays and night shift differential pays.
A complaint inspection was conducted by DOLE-Cagayan Field Office (CFO) Labor Inspector Edgardo D. Eduria on January 6, 2023 which uncovered the above-mentioned violations.
Two (2) mandatory conferences between the employer’s representative and the three (3) complainants were also conducted, culminating in the awarding of the check today.
The payment was personally witnessed by the Technical Support Services Division’s (TSSD) Labor Standards Unit Head, Mr. Dionisio Versola, Jr. ###
