DOLE readies 352 Quirino GIP benefs looming government work

Cabarroguis, Quirino - An orientation for 352 Government Internship Program (GIP) beneficiaries was facilitated by the Department of Labor and Employment-Quirino Field Office (DOLE-QFO) and the Provincial Government of Quirino on January 31, 2023, helping prepare the beneficiaries for public service.

The activity was also done to discuss the program's objectives as well as the interns' obligations, work engagement, workplace etiquette, and program implementation.

Quirino Governor Dakila Carlo E. Cua, mentioned in his speech the importance of making the most out of the opportunity given to the beneficiaries, which may help them in their professional careers in the future.

A former Government Intern, Fire Officer 1 Klifford T. Aduca, meanwhile gave the interns his testimony in an effort to inspire them as they pursue their internship through DOLE.

Aduca also expressed his gratitude to the DOLE for the effective implementation of the program, which paved the road for his success and may potentially play a significant role in the success of the current beneficiaries.

Former GIP interns Raica V. Casuga, Project Development Officer II of the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) and LGU-Cabarroguis, Quirino Local Legislative Assistant I Claire Joy B. Salarzon, also gave moving messages during the orientation, in an effort to inspire the beneficiaries to do their best wherever they may be assigned through the program.

Three things you should remember while working: your commitment to your work, your punctuality and lastly, your prayer before you go to work,” Casuga stated.

The 352 GIP beneficiaries will be deployed in various municipalities of Quirino for three (3) months depending on their qualification. Beneficiaries will receive stipend each working day in accordance with the prevailing minimum wage in Region 02 and were also enrolled to Group Personal Accident Insurance through the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS).

The orientation was also attended by Quirino Lone District representative Midy Cua,  pPG Quirino PESO Manager Gregorio V. Dela Peña, Jr. and PESO Diffun, Frederick C. Busania. The DOLE-QFO contingent was led by DOLE-QFO Provincial Director Geraldine B. Labayani.
