Sanchez Mira, Cagayan – The Local Government Unit of Sanchez Mira’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO) held a Business Forum in partnership with the DOLE- Cagayan Field Office (CFO) to about 45 employers at Bagak Hotel, Sanchez Mira, Cagayan on December 28, 2022.

Topics discussed include salient provisions of the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) law and the latest DOLE issuances.

Mr. Onofre James Mendoza, Senior Labor and Employment Officer and Regional Focal Person of Labor Standards, discussed key provisions of the existing labor laws related to Labor Standards and Labor Relations, services being offered by the Department, as well as the latest DOLE issuances such as DOLE Advisory No. 1 series of 2020 or the Suspension of Work in the Private Sector by Reason of Natural or Man-made Calamities.

Ms. Liezel P. Magno, the DOLE-CFO's Supervising Labor and Employment Officer, gave a presentation on the PESO program and other DOLE services in behalf of DOLE-CBFO Provincial Director Grace Pomar. She also encouraged organizations to utilize PESO services for job facilitation in order to obtain qualified personnel for their own businesses.

Ms. Magno acknowledged that the private sector plays a crucial role in creating jobs for inclusive growth, not just at the municipal but also at the provincial levels. She also expressed her sincerest gratitude to Glenna Fuertes, the PESO Manager, for initiating the activity.
