3,077 Novo Vizcayanos received P18.4M in TUPAD assistance this Christmas season
About 3,077 informal workers from Nueva Vizcaya province shall begin receiving P18.4M in salaries from the DOLE’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program, a move to provide emergency employment to vulnerable workers affected by the economic crisis brought by COVID-19 pandemic.
The payouts will be conducted in different municipalities of Nueva Vizcaya, to include the towns of Santa Fe, Aritao, Dupax del Sur, Bambang, Kasibu, Kayapa, Diadi, Bagabag, Ambaguio, Bayombong, Villaverde, Solano and Alfonso Castañeda which commenced on December 19, 2022 and shall conclude on January 6, 2023.
The distributions are under the guidance of DOLE-NVFO Provincial Director Elizabeth U. Martinez, representing Regional Director Joel M. Gonzales and Assistant Regional Director Jesus Elpidio B. Atal, Jr.
Government representatives and local government units from the aforementioned towns meanwhile highlighted their commitment to use the emergency employment program to assist disadvantaged and displaced workers in Nueva Vizcaya in order to end the cycle of poverty in the region.
The TUPAD recipients rendered fifteen (15) days of community work by cleaning up their neighborhood, constructing communal gardens, sanitizing public spaces and improving tourist attractions. ###
