Quirino child laborers receive gifts through DOLE's Project Angel Tree

The DOLE-Quirino Field Office (QFO) initiated a Project Angel Tree activity under the DOLE's Child Labor Prevention and Elimination Program (CLPEP) in time for the Christmas season's gift-giving tradition last December 1-8, 2022.

The activity's goal is to bring joy and support to 97 CLPEP recipients and their parents/guardians.

The gift-giving took place in Cabarroguis town, benefiting 30 children from various towns, to include Nagtipunan, Maddela, Aglipay, Diffun and Saguday.

The gift-giving included money and food bundles of rice, noodles, canned foods, and no che buena parcels, slippers, and hygiene kits, were given to the children as gifts during the ceremony.

This project angel tree aims to create a network of "Angels" or sponsors who are committed to assisting child laborers and their families by providing food, financial support, and clothing.

Governor Dakila Carlo E. Cua and his wife, Congresswoman Midy N. Cua, are among those who support the program in the province. The TAO foundation, a non-profit organization that served as a conduit for donations from other organizations, and generous staff members were also on board to assist.

CLPEP Provincial Focal Person Janice D. Dulnuan and Community Facilitator Vaneza O. Tobias were also present to facilitate the activity. ###
