980 Cagayan students join DOLE’s CGAP orientation

The Cagayan State University (CSU) Carig and Lal-lo campuses held a Career Guidance Advocacy Program (CGAP) orientation to 980 graduating students in collaboration with the DOLE-Cagayan Field Office (CFO) via face-to-face and ZOOM platform on June 08, 2022.

The career and placement symposiums are designed to educate graduating students on Labor Market Information (LMI) in preparation for their job placement after graduation.

In a message, Atty. Cary Joy Guiyab of the DOLE-CFO reiterated the importance of guidance and information before carving a career to be able to know the inherent work rights as well as responsibilities needed to succeed in the corporate world.

Knowledge is power. Being equipped with workers’ rights and knowing its proper enforcement in the real setting is a great help to the justice system of the Philippines. It realizes the aspiration of the Constitution, prevents the clogging of labor cases, and empowers the labor sector in this country against infringement of rights and dispersion of wrongs. In an era of good education, those who know more will be able to protect themselves from abuse and mistreatment without the intervention of the public authority,” Atty. Guiyab said.

The Career Guidance Advocacy is a flagship program of the department as employment facilitation intermediation services for the youth to provide relevant information as guide for them in making informed professional choices. ###
