DOLE IFO awards Nego-Karts and livelihood package worth P900K to aid ambulant workers
Cauayan City, Isabela – The Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office No. 02 through its Isabela Field Office led by Provincial Director Evelyn U. Yango recently awarded Nego-Karts to help boost the livelihood of 30 informal workers residing in various barangays in this city.

The individual beneficiaries received the assistance worth P900K in the form of vending carts, raw materials and other products that can be utilized for selling goods.

“Bagamat nariyan parin po ang banta ng pandemya, tuloy tuloy po ang serbisyo ng Department of Labor and Employment upang matulungan at mai-angat ang pamumuhay ng ating mga informal workers. We are hoping that this assistance will enable you to increase and diversify your products and services at mapalago ninyo ito ng maayos,” Yango said.

In return, the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the Department and committed to work hard to make their new undertaking grow into profitable and sustainable businesses.

Also present during the awarding ceremony were Cauayan City Vice Mayor Bong Dalin, City Councilor Cynthia Uy, PESO Manager Lourmie Romero and other representatives of LGU Cauayan.

“In behalf of Mayor Bernard Dy, kami po dito sa Lungsod ng Cauayan ay taos pusong nagpapasalamat sa DOLE at kay Secretary Bello sa walang sawang pagbibigay ng tulong at suporta sa ating mga kababayan,” Dalin said.

The Negosyo sa Kariton (Nego-Kart) project is one of DOLE’s priority project which is intended to provide decent livelihood mainly for the benefit of marginal workers in the country’s informal sector, specifically the ambulant workers in major cities of the country. ###
