DOLE establishes career readiness through Career Guidance, Employment Coaching

Maddela, Quirino — The Department of Labor and Employment-Quirino Field Office (DOLE-QFO) held a Career Guidance and Employment Coaching on May 17, 2022 for 63 Grade 10 to Grade 12 students of the Maddela Integrated School of Arts and Trades in Brgy. Dumabato Norte, Maddela, Quirino.

The facilitation of the program was managed by Ms. Hezelyn Nera, Career Guidance Advocacy Program Focal Person of the DOLE-QFO, along with the school’s Guidance Counsellor and the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Maddela.

Nera discussed crucial aspects which can shape young jobseeker’s future, to include topics on career planning, fundamentals of Labor Market Information, general labor standards, and other pertinent topics to guide participants in choosing a career.

The Career Guidance and Employment Coaching aims to deal with the underlying problems of multi-faceted series of career choices which often lead to confusion and skills mismatch. The program forms part of the labor department’s objective to provide aid and guidance to the youth, and is annually conducted preceding students’ graduation.

“You will encounter hindrances and obstacles, never allow these to stop you from reaching your goals,” Nera said. ###
