LGU Jones priming DOLE livelihood program beneficiaries to ensure project sustainability

The Local Government Unit (LGU)of Jones, Isabela has vowed to work hand-in-hand with the labor department to prepare beneficiaries of Starter Kit under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) with the needed skills and expertise before their engagement in business to ensure the sustainability of their projects.

This is after the DOLE - Isabela Field Office (IFO) led by Provincial Director Evelyn U. Yango awarded a livelihood check amounting to P530K to the LGU earlier.

Yango said it is essential to prepare the beneficiaries by equipping them with the needed skills and proper work attitudes in order to prosper in their chosen undertaking, to include training on problem-solving and troubleshooting for sustainability.

Meanwhile, LGU Jones PESO Manager Edna Naungayan said the they have started its coordination with the LGU’s GSO to facilitate the procurement of needed tools and raw materials for the 30 starter kit projects this week.

Naungayan adds that the entrepreneurship development training will be scheduled as soon as the tools and raw materials are procured in the early part of July this year, with the set plan of activities aiming to address the unemployment problem due to inadequate employment opportunities and a lack of capital to venture into livelihood programs in the area. ###
