DOLE RO2 participates in PNP’s Balik-Loob Caravan

Gonzaga, Cagayan - The DOLE-Cagayan Field Office (CFO) represented by Atty. Cary Joy L. Guiyab, Labor and Employment Officer III (LEO III), and Marissa Corales, DOLE Integrated and Livelihood Program (DILP) Focal Person, joined the first Balik-Loob Caravan organized by the Philippine National Police Regional Office No. 2 on April 19, 2022, aiming to extend livelihood assistance and opportunities to 53 rebel returnees from the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People's Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) and Militia ng Bayan who recently surrendered to the government.

Guiyab delivered a message about hope and unity on behalf of DOLE Regional Director Joel M. Gonzales, welcoming the present surrenderees who took a bold step to be reintegrated back to society. She also highlighted the close coordination and efforts of various government agencies in assisting rebel returnees in the province.

Corales meanwhile conducted orientation on the livelihood program under DILP and the emergency employment program Tulong Panghanapbuhay Para sa Ating Displaced/Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) to inform rebel returnees on DOLE’s possible interventions for job and livelihood opportunities.

The PNP, Cagayan Police Provincial Office (CPPO), Office of Civil Defense (OCD), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Provincial Government of Cagayan, LGU Rizal, Department of Agriculture (DA), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Department of Health (DOH), and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) also attended the said activity. ###
