DOLE-IFO joins Duterte Legacy Caravan on Labor Day

CITY OF ILAGAN - The Department of Labor and Employment - Isabela Field Office (DOLE-IFO) joined the Duterte Legacy "Barangayanihan Caravan" together with  different National Government Agencies (NGAs) and volunteers from the Global Coalition of Advocacy Support Groups and Force Multipliers aimed at bringing government services closer to the Filipinos on May 1, 2022 - Labor Day.

Police Colonel Julio R. Go of the Philippine National Police (PNP) with Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA) and Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) commenced the Caravan through a unity walk together with other officials and personnel of various national and local and government agencies. The walk started from Rizal Park to the City of Ilagan Community Center where various programs and services of NGAs were showcased and highlighted.

DOLE-IFO Supervising LEO Froctoso Agustin through San Mariano PESO Manager Cora N. Miranda-Pua awarded a certificate of eligibility for the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) to the president of the different associations of former rebels in San Mariano.

Villa Ancheta Farmers Association President Alejandro J. Vergara received Php 447, 704.00 worth of livelihood packages. Meanwhile, Sama- Sama Tungo sa Kaunlaran Association President Corazon L. Valdez received the same certificate worth Php 306, 652 and SALAKNIB Former Rebels Integrated Farm Association President Estaquio Alberto received a certificate worth Php 500,000.

22 former rebels also received the same certificate for the individual starter kit project worth 30,000.00-livelihood package each.

The SALAKNIB audiovisual presentation (AVP) of DOLE was played during the entire program to show the department's commitment in facilitating the integration of the former rebels into the mainstream of economic life through the initiatives of Regional Director Joel M. Gonzales, and Secretary Silvestre H. Bello lll, DOLE-RO2 Regional Director Joel M. Gonzales and DOLE-IFO Provincial Director Evelyn U. Yango.

The CARAVAN was attended by the following government entities to provide essential services: Social Security System, The Departments of Trade and Industry, Agrarian Reform, Agriculture, Social Works and Development, Public Works and Highways, Science and Technology, Health and Local Government; and PhilHealth, National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, Land Transportation Office, Philippine Statistics Authority and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.

The 'Duterte Legacy: Barangayanihan Caravan’ is a collaborative effort of government agencies to inform the public of the programs and projects and an effort to bring real change to the lives of the Filipinos. ###
