DOLE NVFO conducts TUPAD program profiling in Bambang, Diadi towns

The Department of Labor and Employment - Nueva Vizcaya Field Office (DOLE-NVFO) conducted a profiling of displaced/underemployed workers for the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/ Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program on April 21-22, 2022 at Bambang and Diadi towns in Nueva Vizcaya province.

219 individuals from Bambang and another 485 individuals from Diadi, Nueva Vizcaya were meanwhile profiled as eligible to be part of the program and will thereafter render 10 days of community work with a remuneration rate equivalent to the prevailing minimum wage of P370 per day, including provision of Personal Equipment Protective (PPEs) in the form of long sleeves and hats.

Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Manager-Cheryl Hazel B. Palec of Diadi town attended the event, representing Mayor of Diadi – Hon. Sandy M. Gayaton.

The TUPAD or Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers is a community-based package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed and seasonal workers, for a minimum period of 10 days, but not to exceed a maximum of 30 days, depending on the nature of work to be performed. This program also aims to mitigate the economic impact of COVID-19 on the workers in the informal sector. The TUPAD program cover workers in the informal sector particularly the self-employed with elementary occupations and unpaid family workers. ###
