DOLE-QFO leads Labor and Employment Seminar for Quirino establishments


Cabarroguis, Quirino - To further increase awareness and education on employees’ and employers’ rights and responsibilities in the workplace, the DOLE-Qurino Field Office (QFO) led a Labor and Employment Seminar to two (2) establishments in this province last January 27, 2022.


The activity was held online with 223 participants, 178 hailing from the Quirino Electric Cooperative (Quirelco) and the remaining from the Diffun Saranay and Development Cooperative (DISADECO).


In the webinar, DOLE-QFO Head Laura B. Diciano discussed Department Order No.183 series of 2017 or the Revised Rules on the Administration and Enforcement of Labor Laws pursuant to Article 128 of the Labor Code, General Labor Standards covering rights of workers on minimum wage,  holiday pay, premium pay, overtime pay, night shift differential, services charges, service incentive leave (SIL),maternity leave, paternity leave for solo parent, victims of VAWC and special leave for women,13th month pay, separation pay, retirement pay  and statutory benefits. 


KASAMBAHAY Labor Advisories, salient provisions of R.A. 11058 (OSH Law) and DOLE’s latest issuances were likewise presented.


Meanwhile, an open forum was facilitated at the latter part of the activity to address queries and clarifications from the participants.


The activity is part of the DOLE’s Labor and Employment Education Services (LEES), designed to increase awareness on workers’ and employers’ rights and responsibilities, work ethics, values and skills to foster a more cooperative labor-management relations and the attainment of decent and productive work. ###
