Isabela coastal towns folks receive cash aid and stipend thru DOLE'S CAMP 2 and GIP

Maconacon, Isabela - The DOLE - Isabela Field Office (IFO) team facilitated a payout of cash aids to displaced workers residing in two remote coastal towns in the province recently.

A total of 176 beneficiaries from Divilacan and Maconacon received their one-time P5,000 financial assistance from the COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP) 2 which aims to provide aid to affected workers in the tourism sector.

Erma Alvarez, a resident of Divilacan and one of the beneficiaries meanwhile expressed her gratitude to the labor department for the provision of assistance.

"Maraming salamat po sa DOLE. Malaking tulong po ito sa pang araw araw naming gastos at pambili ng bigas ng aming pamilya. Kahit malayo po ang aming lugar ay umaabot po ang tulong ninyo,” Erma said.

Villagers here have to travel by plane or boat to reach neighboring towns and provinces as the area currently have no accessible road networks.

Meanwhile in the same towns, the team also led a payout totaling to more than P400K to 19 beneficiaries of the Government Internship Program (GIP) of the labor department.

The interns performed various tasks such as profiling, encoding, assisting, and other functions not highly technical in nature. ###
