P1.9-M in labor settlement claims settled through DOLE’s SEnA

Ilagan City, Isabela - In its bid to assist and provide cost-saving mechanism for aggrieved workers, the regional office here through its Isabela Field Office (IFO) facilitated a request for assistance of 10 workers through the labor department’s Single-Entry Approach (SEnA) settlement procedure.

Through the commitment of the assigned desk officer to deliver an efficient settlement procedure for all the issues arising from the employer-employee relationship, the affected workers, composed mainly of electricians, were paid with a total amount of P 1,962,400 representing their last pay and proportionate 13th month pay for separation from employment.

In addition, the employer waived all outstanding debts and cash advances of its workers as an act of compassion towards his long-time trusted employees.

The Single Entry Approach (SEnA) is a reform measure institutionalized by the DOLE for a faster, fairer and inexpensive settlement of labor issues. The system prevents labor disputes from maturing into actual labor cases. ###
