DOLE’s TUPAD aid 276 beneficiaries in Maddela town

Maddela, Quirino – The DOLE-Quirino Field Office (QFO) in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Maddela facilitated the release of ?1,021,200.00 worth of wages under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program to over 200 informal sector workers in this town recently.

This is a continuous effort of the department through the leadership of Secretary Bebot Bello to curb the adverse economic impact brought by the pandemic to this sector.

The payout was attended by DOLE-QFO Head Laura B. Diciano, Municipal Mayor Remil Tolentino and staff from the DOLE-QFO and Public Employment Service Office (PESO) staff.

Also present during the activity were DILG Assistant Regional Director Elpidio A. Durwin, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Agathon Pagbilao and representatives from other government agencies who are part of the Duterte Legacy Caravan.

In her speech, Ms. Diciano mentioned that TUPAD is a program that aims to uplift the lives of marginalized workers and help them recover in this time of pandemic. She said that each beneficiary receives P3,700 for 10 days of community work.

Ang inyo pong pinagtrabahuan ng sampung araw ay sa inyo po lamang, buong-buo dapat ang mapunta po sa inyo na P3,700 at hindi kailangang hatian ng sino man,” Diciano added.

To ensure the safety and health of everyone, minimum strict protocols were imposed in the duration of the payout activity. ###
