Staff and clients’ welfare ensured: DOLE awards safety seal to five establishments in Isabela

Ilagan City, Isabela – Five more establishments in Isabela province hurdled the health and safety requisites to be awarded with a safety seal as the DOLE – Isabela Field Office (IFO) here and representatives from DOLE RO2 led the presentation of the establishments’ certifications today, October 8, 2021.

The establishments awarded earlier were the Coca-Cola Ilagan Isabela Plant in this city, the ACT Machineries and Metalcraft Corporation and the B&L Machineries both located in Cauayan City, the CGC Grains, Inc. in the town of Reina Mercedes and the Isabela I Electric Cooperative, Inc. (ISELCO I) in Alicia.

The DOLE Regional Office No. 02 has so far awarded safety seal to a total of 17 establishments across the five provinces of the region. Of the total, 12 establishments are from Isabela, 3 establishments come from Quirino Province and 2 establishments in Cagayan.

Nationwide, a total of 43,332 public and private establishments have been issued Safety Seal Certifications according to a DOH-DILG-DOLE-DOT-DTI Joint Press Release published last October 5, 2021.

I commend and congratulate the establishments that have taken the lead in securing their Safety Seal certifications. This will build confidence that their respective companies are committed to ensuring the health and safety of their stakeholders and workers,” DOLE Secretary Silvestre “Bebot” Bello III said in the press release.

Regional Director Joel M. Gonzales meanwhile made a plea for more establishments to apply for certification to boost customers and workers’ confidence as the former follows health and safety protocols to keep the COVID-19 virus at bay.

We are glad with our accomplishments with regards to the safety seal but we want more establishments to apply for certification as this will certainly enhance customer satisfaction, helping establishments increase their revenue and thereby help with workers’ job security,” Director Gonzales said.

Today’s awarding of Safety Seal certificates was led by DOLE-IFO Senior LEO Evangeline Aguisanda, representing IFO Head Evelyn Yango, along with Onofre James Mendoza and Sharina Angela Lumabao from the DOLE RO2.

The Safety Seal Certification Program is a voluntary certification scheme implemented through the partnership of various government agencies in compliance with the DOLE-DOH-DILG-DOT-DTI Joint Memorandum Circular No. 20-01 series of 2021. The program ensures that business premises follow the Minimum Public Health Standards mandated by the government to secure public safety.

The DOLE for its part issues the certification for businesses under manufacturing, construction sites, utilities, information and communication companies, and warehouses.

The Safety Seal is valid for six months and can be renewed thereafter. ###
