DOLE award more than P2M in benefits to workers in Isabela
Dinapigue, Isabela - A total of 80 former workers from a now defunct corporation in this town received P2,630,947.64 worth of unpaid remuneration and other benefits with an assist from DOLE’s Single Entry Approach (SeNA) today, September 10, 2021.
The workers were contracted by the now-dissolved Enviroclean Manpower Services Corporation and deployed to Dinapigue Mining Corporation (DMC), the latter of which was the one authorized in releasing the claims of the former workers.
Enviroclean provided a total of P619,108.59 in unpaid wages, pro-rated 13th month pay for 2021 and monetized unused service incentive leaves for the workers.
The DMC, for its part, volunteered to give separation pay amounting to P2,011,839.05 to the workers although the company doesn’t have the monetary obligation to do so, as part of their goal to assist the workers and help settle their claims.
DMC’s new contracted manpower services has also absorbed the 80 workers, noting the need to help workers along employment generation and preservation in this time of pandemic.
The settlement was an endeavor that was pushed by Secretary Silvestre ‘Bebot’ Bello III through Regional Director Joel M. Gonzales, echoing the DOLE’s mission to ensure that workers’ rights are preserved and protected.
The labor department’s SEnA is an administrative approach to provide a speedy, impartial, inexpensive, and accessible settlement procedure of all labor issues or conflicts to prevent them from ripening into full-blown disputes or actual labor cases.
DOLE RO2 encourages workers with job-related issues and concerns to visit the nearest DOLE field office for assistance and settlement of their concerns. ###
