DOLE NVFO awards P899K worth of DKSK packages to 30 AritaoeƱos

Some 30 packages of tools/gigs were awarded to qualified beneficiaries of Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP) program recently, on the occasion of the town’s 104th Founding anniversary.

The thirty (30) beneficiaries are self-employed and underemployed individuals from nine (9) barangays of Aritao. The beneficiaries are skilled workers in the field of Salon and Spa services who are marginalized and in need of opportunities for a better quality of livelihood.

The beneficiaries also underwent Skills Upgrading as well as Business and Work Improvement Course (BWIC) to improve their skills and prepare them for their business undertakings.

A total of P899,880.00 was utilized for the procurement of various tools/gigs in the form of salon swivel chairs, hair products for hair rebonding, hair coloring, hair perming, hair cutting, and other materials used for manicure, pedicure and foot massage services.

The starter kit was a commitment of Sec. Silvestre H. Bello III during his visit to the province last January 2021 as he was joined by LGU officials in the awarding of livelihood fund assistance to LGUs Alfonso Castañeda, Santa Fe, Aritao, and Villaverde for the implementation of Nego Karts and Starter Kits projects.

The awarding ceremony was attended by Assistant Regional Director Ms. Grace A. Pomar representing Regional Director Mr. Joel M. Gonzales, who encouraged the LGU thru the PESO to continue submitting proposals for more opportunities to receive assistance from the DOLE.

The DOLE Nueva Vizcaya Field Office (NVFO) Head, Mr. Gerardo M. Nicolas, Municipal Mayor Remelina Peros-Galam, DOLE NVFO staff and other LGU officials also witnessed the awarding activity. ###
