Marginalized sector, workers’ associations benefit from DOLE livelihood program

Cabarroguis, Quirino — The Department of Labor and Employment-Quirino Field Office (DOLE-QFO) conducted a livelihood training and turnover of DOLE Integrated Livelihood Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP) Kabuhayan Starter Kit Projects to beneficiaries earlier today.

A total of 75 beneficiaries from identified influenced barangays in the towns of Aglipay, Cabarroguis, Maddela, and Nagtipunan received their starter kits worth a total of P1,766,104.00.

There are around 17 workers associations from 17 barangays who will attend the 3-day training. The livelihood assistance is part of the programs of DOLE in support to Executive Order No. 70 or the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict.

Meanwhile, Secretary Silvestre ‘Bebot’ Bello III is looking forward to helping at least 100 identified influenced barangays in Region 2 with insurgency concerns for the rest of the year.

The activity was attended by DOLE RO2 Regional Director Joel Gonzales, Governor Dakila Cua, DOLE-QFO Head Laura Diciano and staff from the DOLE regional and field office. ### With a report from: Hezelyn Nera, DOLE-QFO
