Bello leads groundbreaking of new Isabela Field Office, payout of TUPAD beneficiaries in Tumauini

Ilagan City, Isabela – DOLE Secretary Silvestre ‘Bebot’ H. Bello III personally attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the new lot for the labor department’s Isabela Field Office (IFO) and its soon-to-be constructed building in a ceremony conducted in this city earlier today.

The 1,200 square meters of lot, donated by LGU Ilagan City, will house all staff of the DOLE-IFO once construction is completed, after years of leasing several buildings to do operations in the province of Isabela.

I would like to thank the City Government of Ilagan for this piece of land that will enable us in the DOLE to help more of our constituents and kababayan” Bello said.

Also attending the event was Isabela Vice Governor Faustino G. Dy III, Isabela 1st District Congressman Antonio T. Albano, LPGMA Partylist Representative Allan U. Ty, Ilagan City Mayor Josemarie L. Diaz, Vice Mayor Kyrill S. Bello, Isabela 1st District Board Member Delfinito Albano, DOLE RO2 Regional Director Joel M. Gonzales and staff from the DOLE regional and field offices and LGU Ilagan City.

The groundbreaking activity was followed by a payout of more than 2,200 Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced (TUPAD) program beneficiaries from Tumauini town.

The beneficiaries received a one-time assistance amounting to P3,700.00 each for a total amount of more than P8M distributed during the activity.

Secretary Bello meanwhile advised the beneficiaries to use the amount given for their immediate needs, noting that the amount given was designed to help alleviate the adverse effects of the pandemic to workers in the formal sector.

Sana sa pamamagitan ng ayudang ito ay makatulong ang Gobyerno sa inyo upang inyong mabili ang mga pangunahin ninyong mga pangangailangan,” Secretary Bello said. ###
