DOLE’s TUPAD benefits transport group members in Cagayan Province

 

Penablanca, Cagayan – The DOLE RO2, through its Cagayan-Batanes Field Office (CBFO), conducted a Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) payout for 134 transport group members from the 3rd District of Cagayan Province last Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Pulsar Hotel.

Each beneficiary received P5,500.00 for a total amount of P737,000.00 distributed for the 134 beneficiaries.

The beneficiaries who received their grant on Saturday came from a total of 4,040 transport group members for the said district who were allotted a total amount of P22,220,000.00 to work under the TUPAD program, with the rest of them scheduled to receive their assistance at a later date.

Mr. Cesar E. Balisi of Brgy. Linao West, Tuguegarao City, one of the beneficiaries who received assistance, meanwhile expressed his gratitude for the grant that he says shall go a long way towards providing for the needs of this family.

Nagpapasalamat ako sa DOLE sa naibigay nilang tulong sa akin na magagamit ko para sa pangangailangan ng aming pamilya at nawa’y mas marami pa kayong taong matulungan sa pamamagitan ng programang ito,” Mr. Balisi said.

Leading the DOLE contingent for the activity was Regional Director Joel M. Gonzales along with CBFO Chief Ms. Prexie Caronan, who both graced the program along with Cagayan 3rd District Congressman Joseph “Jojo” L. Lara, who helped secure funding for the transport group beneficiaries. ###
