DOLE programs and services reach Isabela grassroots level amidst pandemic

Ilagan, Isabela – The Department of Labor and Employment - Isabela Field Office (DOLE – IFO) has recently partnered with the Philippine Army’s 5th Infantry Division (5ID-PA) for a Community Support Program Training for its 133 Philippine Army Community-Based Support Staff via teleconference.

The said activity aims to capacitate the said support staff on their journey towards better information dissemination of government programs and services in the grassroots, with the 5ID-PA having been a long-time partner of the agency in information dissemination of its programs and services.

The training, which was facilitated in the midst of a pandemic, is a manifestation of the continued delivery of programs and services despite the threat of COVID-19.

The DOLE’s Labor Education Seminar has also adapted to the new normal, as it is now being conducted online in adherence to health and safety protocols.

Part of the topics discussed is DOLE’s Registration of Workers Association (RWA), which entitles group of workers to acquire legal representation as per DOLE’s Department Order No. 40.   The application for such may be submitted through the agency’s Online Union Registration System (OURS). The said registration enables groups to apply to different government agencies’ programs and services.

The DOLE and 5ID-PA both hope to partner for similar endeavors in the future to promote welfare and industrial peace in the community, especially the marginalized and disadvantaged sectors. ### DPC
