Protection of employees ensured: DOLE RO2 targets regular distribution of PPEs, vitamins

Tuguegarao City – The regional office here recently procured vitamins and personal protective equipment (PPEs) worth more than P800K as the former steps up its efforts to control and prevent the spread of COVID-19 among its employees.

The said purchase will benefit a total of 260 employees from the regional and field offices, with the distribution of PPEs recently completed for the month of April.

Of the amount, P200K was allotted for vitamins while a total of P500K was allotted for the purchase of alcohols, face masks and face shields, good to cover the DOLE RO2’s needs for the months of March to May.

Mr. Reginald Estioco, Chief of the DOLE RO2’s Internal Management Services Division (IMSD), said that the office is already in the midst of planning the procurement of vitamins and PPEs for the months of June through August, as the office inches closer to procuring materials to protect its employees from the virus for the rest of 2021.

We are already planning the procurement of additional supplies [PPEs, vitamins] and once we complete the procurement, the supplies shall be immediately distributed to our staff,” Mr. Estioco said.

The purchase of PPEs and vitamins is one of many health and safety measures currently practiced by DOLE RO2, which has also established alternative working schemes, installed thermal scanners, foothbaths, sanitation areas, among other health and safety measures since the onset of the pandemic last March 2020. ###
