SEnA eases release of monetary claims for former employee in Quirino

Cabarroguis, Quirino – A former bookkeeper who filed a complaint against her employer received a total amount of P192,240.48 in monetary claims from her unpaid 13th month pay, service incentive leaves and monthly salary for ten (10) months in Quirino recently.

The former employee filed a complaint to the Department of Labor and Employment – Quirino Field Office (DOLE QFO) on March 1 stating that she was illegally dismissed by her former employer.

A Single Entry Approach (SEnA) conference regarding her case was immediately initiated by the field office on March 2 where the employee and employer both attended and discussed the concern.

On the said SEnA conference, it was agreed that the manager shall have a meeting with the agency’s Board of Directors to discuss the matter concerning the employee’s claims. She also stated that the documents needed to support the cooperative will be presented on the second conference.

On March 18, a second conference for the case was conducted.  With the help of SEnA Desk Officer (SEADO) Laura B. Diciano, both parties settled for the employee to receive the amount commensurate to her monetary claims.

As of March 2021, There have already been five (5) cases involving monetary claims that were settled in the field office through SEnA, with a disposition rate of 100%. The employee’s case was the fifth one settled for March alone.

SEnA is a form of “conciliation-mediation intervention” of the DOLE regarding labor disputes. Any labor disputes must be resolved within 30 days through the assistance of a SEADO. ###
