Bello, Tugade, lead distribution of TUPAD salaries to Bambang town beneficiaries


January 22, 2021 - DOLE Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III together with DOTr Secretary Arthur P. Tugade, Nueva Vizcaya Congresswoman Luisa “Banti” Lloren Cuaresma and other key officials from the local and national government agencies lead the payout of TUPAD salaries to some 580 beneficiaries at the NVSU Gymnasium, Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya.

The beneficiaries came from 20 barangays of the town, with DOLE alloting a total of P3,327,460.00 for the endeavor.  Each beneficiary received P5,500.00 as remuneration for their services rendered in 14 days, with each beneficiary rendering 3 hours – 28 minutes per day.

Secretary Bello meanwhile pledged an additional P10M for the implementation of the TUPAD program in Nueva Vizcaya province for CY 2021 whiile acknowledging and thanking the people of the province for supporting the programs of national government agencies.

I feel overjoyed because of the warm welcome shown by the people of this town,” Secretary Bello said.

Secretary Tugade also mentioned that their visit in the province is to present the government’s promise of reestablishing local economy by providing livelihood to each deserving beneficiary in the province of Nueva Vizcaya.

In support to the present administration’s intention of controlling the spread of COVID -19, the LGU of Bambang assigned the TUPAD beneficiaries to various community activities like gardening & clean up drive, including disinfection and sanitation of vicinities and other public facilities.

Other activities done include de-clogging of canals from debris and clearing of damaged structures left by the effects of typhoons “Rolly”, “Ulyses” and “Vicky” last year.  Some beneficiaries were also assigned in assisting LGU offices in their agroforestry project under the DENR’s National Greening Program. ###
