TUPAD-backed farm & agro-eco tourism park launched in Isabela

San Isidro, Isabela – The San Isidro Green Ladies Organization (SIGLO) Integrated Farm & Agro-Eco Tourism Park, developed with help from some 250 Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced (TUPAD) workers, was launched yesterday, January 13, 2021.

The event, organized by the local government unit (LGU) and SIGLO, was attended by DOLE RO2 Regional Director, Atty. Evelyn R. Ramos, who also toured the area to inspect the work done by the TUPAD beneficiaries.

The park, located in Barangay Quezon in this town, is expected to strengthen local tourism in the area, with the LGU targeting to improve upon its present status as a 5th class municipality.

The area also intends to promote agriculture, especially vegetable farming, as a way to promote sufficient diet and healthy living.

The SIGLO, in its first year of existence, aims to further the rights of women in the area as well as improve their opportunities across all fields including job opportunities. ### with a report from Kathlyn Sabado, DOLE-Isabela Field Office
