TUPAD beneficiaries help in DENR tree planting activity along Tuguegarao river bank, Regional Govern

December 18, 2020 – One hundred fifty (150) beneficiaries of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Displaced/Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) program joined a DENR-led activity to plant trees along strategic areas in Tuguegarao City earlier today.

One hundred (100) of the TUPAD workers shall work for 14 days along the Cagayan River adjacent to Barangay Cataggaman Viejo while fifty (50) shall work in and around the Regional Government Center at Barangay Carig Sur, dubbed Pamaskong Handog ng DOLE at DENR sa Kalikasan.

Each beneficiary shall receive assistance amounting to P5,500 each for the duration of the endeavor.

The DOLE RO2 also plans to partially disburse the workers’ salaries on Monday, December 21, 2020, even before the completion of the 14-day work, due to the need of worker-beneficiaries for assistance caused by the pandemic. A total amount of P825,000.00 shall be disbursed for the activity.

Evelyn R. Ramos said during her remarks to the beneficiaries.

The event, done in partnership with LGU Tuguegarao City, saw the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Regional Office 02 provide trees to be planted while the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 02 shall provide food packs. ###
