P16M TUPAD fund and livelihood checks benefit 3 CagVal provinces


A total amount of P16,434,822.00 was recently awarded to 7 municipalities in the provinces of Cagayan, Quirino and Nueva Vizcaya, part of the simultaneous payouts of DOLE programs to commemorate the 87th anniversary of the labor department.

Of the amount, P5,669,686.00 was given to 910 TUPAD workers and starter kit recipients from the municipalities of Sanchez Mira and Claveria in Cagayan, with the awarding conducted at the former municipality.



Meanwhile, 200 recipients from four (4) municipalities of Quirino province shall benefit from livelihood checks amounting to a total of P3,988,800.00, intended for the purchase of starter kits for the said beneficiaries. The checks were awarded during a simple program conducted at the DOLE RO2 conference hall last Tuesday.

A total of 602 worker-beneficiaries from Nueva Vizcaya also received their TUPAD assistance and a livelihood check at a payout conducted in Bambang town. An amount of P6,776,336 was handed over during the activity.

TUPAD beneficiaries shall work for 14 days at no more than 4 hours a day and receive an amount worth P5,500.00. DOLE’s Kabuhayan Starter Kits meanwhile target the poor and unemployed to help them plan, set up and start to operate their livelihood undertakings. ###
