Awarding of starter kits and training on OSH conducted in Quezon, Nueva Vizcaya

Quezon, Nueva Vizcaya - DOLE - Nueva Vizcaya Field Office (NVFO) spearheaded an awarding of starter kit tools/gigs under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Project (DILP) and training on Business and Work Improvement last September 30, 2020.

A total of 28 skilled beneficiaries were given kits totaling P489,741.00, with the tools augmenting the beneficiaries’ skills in nail care, beauty care, tailoring, carpentry, welding, plumbing and street food vending.

The town’s local chief executive applauded the timely release of livelihood assistance to her constituents considering the economic impact of the COVID – 19 pandemic that unfavorably affected most of the municipalities with rural barangays in the province.

She also stressed that the assistance extended to the beneficiaries who are from rural areas could augment their present business with limited capital and resources in sustaining their means of livelihood.

A grant amounting to P123,000.00 was also awarded by the agency to the LGU for training expenses, being the agency’s accredited co-partner in the endeavor.

DOLE - NVFO resource speakers meanwhile discussed Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Standards, need and risk factors for OSH, occupational hazards prevention and COVID-19 Health and Safety Protocols.

Other topics discussed includes:  Social Preparation, Organization and Management Principles, Productivity, Marketing and Simple Accounting and Bookkeeping. ###
