3rd Quarter CORDS Meeting conducted in Quirino province

Cabarroguis, Quirino - The Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF-ELCAC) 2 converged on October 02, 2020 for the 3rd Quarter Cabinet Officer for Regional Development and Security (CORDS) Meeting to revisit the accomplishment of member agencies in partnership with Local Government Units (LGUs) and the private sector.


DOLE Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III, the CORDS for the Cagayan Valley Region, presided the meeting which was also attended by the National Security Adviser, Secretary Hermogenes Esperon, Cagayan Governor Manuel N. Mamba, the Chairperson of the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC), via ZOOM, Isabela Governor Rodito T. Albano III, Chairperson for the Regional Development Council (RDC) and Quirino Province Governor Dakila Carlo Cua. The Governors of Batanes and Nueva Vizcaya were represented by representatives.

Part of the topics discussed is the presentation of the updated RTF-ELCAC 2019-2022 Implementation Plan (ImPlan), highlighting proposed convergence activities of different member agencies across the 12 clusters of the task force to address insurgency issues in the region and bring lasting peace.

The ImPlan is proposing more than P4 Billion for the activities until 2022. The said ImPlan was unanimously approved for implementation by the body during the meeting.

Secretary Bello III meanwhile stressed the importance of cooperation and collaboration between and among all sectors of the government as well as the private sector, collectively known as the Whole-of-Nation Approach, in realizing the Duterte Administration’s goal of bringing true and lasting peace in the nation.

“The participation of the military and the national government in maintaining peace and order is just as important as the contribution of local governments and private sectors in poverty reduction and job creation,” Secretary Bello III said. ###
