Tuguegarao City. As the delivery programs and services is continuous amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, DOLE RO2 then ensured that the health and safety of its personnel is on top of its concern. Such that on 20 August 20202, with the support and assistance DOH Region 02, the DOLE 02 administered flu vaccines to more than fifty (50) frontline employees thereby strengthening their immune system and reducing their risk of contracting and spreading flu virus as the “flu season” has already kicked in.

Regional Director Atty. Evelyn Ramos said that as a frontline agency the risk of exposure is greater for DOLE 02 personnel such as those conducting inspections and face to face transactions.

“Our frontliners deserve maximum protection that this Office can provide to ensure their safety while performing their duties,” she said.

It can be recalled that the DOH earlier recommended the flu vaccines to prevent COVID-19 complications.

The DOLE 02 thanked the volunteering paramedics from the Bureau of Fire and Protection 02 for helping the in-house registered nurse in accomplishing the consent forms and giving the flu shots.

The Office ensured the proper wearing of personal protective equipment, disinfection, and temperature check during the vaccination.

In addition to the flu vaccination, the Office observes stricter health and safety protocols in the workplace such as mandatory disinfection at the office entrance, wearing of facemasks and face shields at all times and regular disinfection of office facility, among others.

Walk-in clients transact at a separate window with the officers of the day to lessen physical contact.

Upon receiving their requests, clients are ushered into a separate holding area specifically constructed to accommodate clients in a wide and open space.

The Office has also expanded its menu of online services to lessen walk-clients and in-person transactions. This innovation easily brings DOLE 02 services at the safety and convenience of the public.

“Our commitment to public service is equally as strong as our responsibility to comply with the health and safety protocols in the midst of the pandemic,” RD Ramos added. –END-DSC/SEM/DLGL
