1560 Beneficiaries received wages under the TUPAD Program of DOLE RO2


Cauayan City, Isabela – Last 22 August 2020, DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello III, together with Isabela Governor Rodito Albano III, graced the TUPAD pay-out at Cauayan City, Isabela, and personally handed to 1,560 recipient-beneficiaries their hard-earned wages for a ten-day social community work.  

A total amount of P5,616,000.00 livelihood fund under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program was disbursed. Moreover, the beneficiaries were enrolled under the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) amounting to 78,000.00.

The recipient-beneficiaries rendered cleaning and clearing operations in various barangays in the City of Cauayan from May 1 to 11, 2020.

The TUPAD Program is a community-based package of assistance providing emergency employment for the displaced workers, the underemployed, and the seasonal workers. This endeavor is part of DOLE’s aim to intensify the implementation of its programs and services in the region amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

As more workers are being displaced due to the health crisis, the DOLE-RO2 swiftly responded through its continuous implementation of programs aligned with national directives to cushion the adverse effects of the pandemic. With the implementation of TUPAD program, many lives are provided with emergency means of livelihood which they need most in this trying times.
