DOLE RO2 awards Kabuhayan Starter Kit and TUPAD funds to LGU Tuguegarao City


Tuguegarao City – The regional office here recently led a turnover of funds for two DOLE programs that aim to alleviate the effects of the pandemic to qualified residents of this city.

The agency’s Kabuhayan Starter Kits, a program that provides informal sector workers, OFWs and their families’ tools and skills training for quicker access to livelihood activities, provided a total of P877, 976.00 intended for 45 beneficiaries.

Meanwhile, the TUPAD or Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers, a program that provides alternative employment to displaced, underemployed and seasonal workers, provided a total of P3, 891,216.00 intended for the salaries and GSIS benefits of 1,036 qualified beneficiaries.

Regional Director, Atty. Evelyn R. Ramos personally delivered the check to Tuguegarao City Mayor Jefferson P. Soriano last July 08, 2020.

Director Ramos also remarked about the eagerness of the regional office to kick start the implementation of its various programs and services after the easing of quarantine measures in the region to begin the month of July. ###
