Micro enterprises in Roxas, Isabela attend ISTIV Bayanihan

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan --- Twenty-one (21) micro establishments participated in the ISTIV Bayanihan Training conducted by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board 2 (RTWPB 2) on February 7, 2019 in Roxas, Isabela.

According to Board Secretary Heidelwina M. Tarrosa, the training focused on harnessing the Filipino spirit of “Bayanihan” in the workplace based on common and shared ISTIV values applied to work systems by both employers and workers.

“The participants were given lectures on marketing, organization or housekeeping, financial planning, inventory or stock control, records keeping, and service quality. These work systems will help them increase their sales, reduce production cost, and efficiently manage their business,” Ms. Tarrosa said.

ISTIV (Industrious, Systematic, Time Conscious, Innovative, and Strong Value for Work) Bayanihan is a productivity enhancement training program specifically designed for Barangay Micro Business Enterprises (BMBE)- registered or Micro Enterprises that aims to foster their growth through enhancement of entrepreneurs’ way of managing business. This is in connection to DOLE’s continuing efforts to improve labor productivity growth rate for all industries by increasing the purchasing power of Filipino workers.

During the training, Roxas Municipal Mayor Jonathan Jose Calderon urged all participants to take advantage of the opportunity to learn and increase their productivity so that they will be able to comply with the mandated minimum wage. (END/JVP/RBE/with report from RTWPB 2)
