DOLE supports Career Week Celebration of the DepEd

DOLE Nueva Vizcaya Field Office (NVFO) OIC - Engr. Joseph B. Sales expressed the full support of the Office in the observance of the Career Week Celebration of the Deped’s as directed under  their Department Order #25, series of 2013.

During the recently held “Orientation and Planning on the Conduct of Career Week Celebration” on July 20, 2017 which was initiated by the DepEd, participants were briefed by the DepEd officials and their CGAP focal persons on how to push through with the lined up activities for the week – long event.  DOLE NVFO representative, being one of the resource speaker, briefed also the participating 45 Secondary Guidance Counselors / Career Guidance Advocates on the role / participation of the DOLE in the annual observance of said event every last week of July. 

Part of the DOLE’s discussion during the said orientation was focused on the topics that DOLE will discuss during the event like: LMI, Labor Market Trends of Cagayan Valley region including the Key Employment Generators (KEGs) and emerging industries & new occupations of the Project Jobs Fit 2022.  Other topics to be included for brief discussion are updates on labor statistics, DOLE programs for the youth like the SPES & GIP programs and the Anti-Illegal Recruitment Campaign (AIRC) program of the POEA & livelihood program for the participating parents.

Target participants are the Grades 9 to 12 students in the 45 public high schools in the province.

On the other hand, DepEd resource speaker discussed the implementation of the Career Guidance Week celebration week-long activity as one of the significant events for the K to 12 program of the DepEd.

The output of the training was an action plan in which the calendar of activities of all the 45 high schools in the province was synchronized in relation to the observance of the Career Week Celebration.
