The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Region 02 office extended to the OFW-dependent beneficiary the final release of the educational financial assistance under one of the program components of the Educational and Livelihood Assistance Program (ELAP) which is the OFW Dependent Scholarship Program (ODSP) of the OWWA.

The OWWA extends educational financial assistance to dependents of active OFWs who are receiving a salary of not more than US$600.  The financial assistance ranges from P5,000.00 for elementary students, P8,000.00 for high school students and P10,000.00 per semester for college students.

OFW Boncy B. Dulay of Barangay Salinas in Bambang,  who is at present working in the State of Qatar as a construction worker since 2008 availed the ODSP in 2016 for her daughter who took up Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) at the Nueva Vizcaya State University.

Daisy B. Dulay, 21 years old, has benefited fully from the scholarship program considering that she was granted with the educational scholarship program since she started studying in college and has just completed the curriculum requirements of her BSME course during the SY 2016-2017.

Daisy is now attending her review classes in Manila since May 22, 2017 up to September 27, 2017 in preparation for her board examination.
