DOLE 2 inks MOU with GIP partner agencies

Both the Congressional Office (CO) in the lone district of Nueva Vizcaya and the Provincial Local Government Unit of Nueva Vizcaya (PLGU - NV) recently signed the Government Internship Program Memorandum of Understanding (GIP - MOU) signaling the official start of the 2017 GIP implementation.

The implementation of the GIP for CY-2017 gives opportunity to 224 beneficiaries in the province to work as interns in government offices.  They will be deployed in the 15 Municipal Local Government Units (MLGUs) and in the PLGU in the province.  Almost all of the beneficiaries who are college graduates will be performing the job of an Assistant Clerk considering that they are not allowed to perform highly technical jobs as Interns except those who are licensed by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) that they could assist in some technical jobs.

OIC Engr. Joseph B. Sales of the DOLE Nueva Vizcaya Field Office (NVFO) explained well in his message during the orientation activity that the main objective of the program is to provide a chance to young workers to display their potentials in line with their expertise which they gained from school.  Consequently, it could establish a direction for them to be employed in government offices in fulfillment to their career plan to be in the public service in the future. 

Meanwhile, both partner agencies representatives, Congresswoman Luisa Ll. Cuaresma and Provincial Governor Carlos M. Padilla expressed their gratitude for the trust and confidence of this office in partnering always with them in the implementation of DOLE programs.  They also cited the sad experiences of their constituents in applying for a job especially the young ones that they are really hard up in competing with job applicants who already gained lots of work experiences having the advantage to be absorbed. This DOLE program, in turn, addresses the issue on the difficulties that young job seekers usually encounter in their venture of job hunting.

The guideline of the program, as embodied in DOLE’s Adminstrative Order 260 series of 2015, was explained well among selected beneficiaries through an orientation being conducted by DOLE NVFO GIP focal person.  The documentary requirements were also emphasized so as not to trigger the delayed release of their stipends.  

In addition, the GIP beneficiaries were also briefed on some basic CSC rules and regulations that a government employee should abide with while performing their duties and responsibilities in government service.
