35 ambulant vendors to receive Negosyo sa Kariton project from DOLE 2

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan---A total of 35 ambulant vendors from Pamplona, Cagayan will benefit in the P351, 000 worth of livelihood assistance given by the Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office 2 (DOLE 2) under its Negosyo sa Kariton (NegoKart) project.

According to DOLE Regional Director, Manuel C. Roldan, the Nego Kart project will provide each beneficiary with a vending cart and accessory livelihood tools, and working capital for the procurement or production of marketable goods or services.

“Each vendor-beneficiary is provided with a total of P9, 950.00 in assistance including a vending cart and accessory livelihood tools along with a group insurance amounting to P50.00 each beneficiary,” Roldan said.

The Local Government Unit of Pamplona will also provide additional capital of P5,000.00 each to the beneficiaries.

Projects under this program includes 4 Ice Cream Making and Vending, 1 Balot Vending, 8 Fish Vending, 6 Fish and Vegetable Vending, 6 Vegetable and Fruit Vending, 2 Cooked Food and Snack Vending, and 8 Snack Vending.

The LGU Pamplona in partnership with DOLE will also provide necessary trainings and seminars for beneficiaries which includes Social Preparation, Entrepreneurship and Development Training, and Simple Bookkeeping.

With this project, ambulant vendors will have the chance to increase, upgrade and diversify their products and services with the use of the vending carts, and market the same to more buyers and costumers in a wider range.

The Nego Kart project is part of the DOLE's effort to assist the unemployed and is one of the many DOLE programs that seeks to improve the lives of many hard working, but low-income vendors. (END/JVP/RBE)
