DOLE 2 to spearhead the conduct of Job & Business Fairs on Independence Day

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan---As a way of celebrating the upcoming 119th Independence Day in Region 2, the Department of Labor and Employment – Regional Office No. 2 (DOLE 2) in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry, Provincial Government of Cagayan and the Cagayan State University will conduct a Trabaho, Negosyo at Kabuhayan Caravan which features Job and Business Fairs.

“The said Caravan, which will be conducted at the University Gymnasium of CSU Andrews, will offer business opportunities and vacancies for local and overseas job,” Manuel C. Roldan, DOLE 2 Regional Director said.

“Through Job Fairs and in collaboration with other government agencies, DOLE 2 works to make it easier and faster for jobseekers to find jobs that match their qualifications, interests and career inclinations.  I wish to invite then all job seekers on June 12,” Director Roldan said.

In order to faciliate job hunting, the Labor Director advised interested applicants to bring with them their resume, ID pictures, and photocopy of their credentials.  For overseas job applicants, they are advised to bring their passports, if already available, to speed up their applications.

To facilitate job matching of qualified applicants with an employer and to avoid congestion of job seekers at the registration area during the Job Fair proper, a pre-registration of job seekers is scheduled on June 6-10 at the Primark, Tuguegarao City.

The Job Fair is an employment facilitation strategy aimed to fast-track the meeting of job seekers and employers/overseas recruitment agencies in one venue at a specific date to reduce cost, time and effort particularly on the part of the applicants. This is open to all unemployed, skilled and unskilled workers, fresh college graduates, graduates of training institutions, displaced workers and employees seeking advancement. During the Job Fair, applicants select vacancies suited to their qualifications and employers could interview or hire on the spot qualified workers.

On the other hand, the Business Fair which is facilitated by the DTI Region 2 will start on 11 June 2017 at the same venue, CSU Andrews.

A Trade Fair, which showcases successful DOLE-funded livelihood project, will also be conducted on June 12.
