All are set for the Trabaho, Negosyo, at Kabuhayan Caravan on Labor Day

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan---To highlight the celebration of 2017 Labor Day in Region 2, a Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK) Caravan is scheduled to be conducted tomorrow, 1 May 2017 at People’s Gymnasium, Tuguegarao City.

“We are all set for the TNK Caravan which features Job and Business Fairs,” said Atty. Erwin N. Aquino, Assistant Regional Director of the Department of Labor and Employment – Regional Office No. 2.

“Around 1,500 vacancies for local employment and 600 job opportunities abroad will be at stake for the Job Fair in Tuguegarao City tomorrow,” Atty. Aquino added.

The TNK Caravan is in partnership with the City Government of Tuguegarao, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the attached agencies of DOLE.  The DTI will set up information booth for the business fair while a trade fair will also be staged featuring the successful DOLE-funded livelihood projects.

For those who are not inclined into wage employment, the business and trade fairs will be a learning point for self-employment.

Job seekers are advised to prepare their best resume, bring multiple copies, come early and in their decent attire and be ready for an interview.

The Labor Day Celebration in Tuguegarao will be started by a 3-kilometer Fun Run dubbed as “Run for Safety”.  Starting point will at the Cagayan Sports Complex at around 4:30 in the morning.  The activity, which is also done in observance of the World Day for Safety and Health in the Workplace, will be spearheaded by the Cagayan Valley Occupational Safety and Health Network (CVOSHNet).  Around 500 workers from the government and private sectors are expected to participate.

To cater job seekers in Isabela, a Job Fair is also scheduled in Ilagan City Hall on Labor Day.  Around 1,300 vacancies for local employment and 2,200 for overseas will be offered.

Also, Job Fairs are slated on 2 May 2017 at Aparri, Cagayan and on 3 May 2017 at Santiago City in Isabela.   (END/RBE)
