DOLE 2 bares vacancies for 2017 Labor Day Job Fair

TUGUEGARAO CITY---The Department of Labor and Employment - Regional Office No. 2 (DOLE 2) bared the list of vacancies for the scheduled Job Fair on Labor Day, 1 May 2017, at People’s Gymnasium, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.  

As of yesterday, a total of 22 local employers and 7 overseas recruitment agencies already confirmed their participation in the said Job Fair.   

“For the protection of job applicants, we see to it that only those establishments with good records are allowed to participate in the Job Fair.  For overseas recruitment agencies, only those with good standing were invited by Philippine Overseas Employment Administration to participate,” DOLE 2 Regional Director, Manuel C. Roldan said.

“Around 1,500 vacancies for local employment and 600 job opportunities for overseas will be at stake for the Job Fair,” Director Roldan added.

For local employment, the top 5 vacancies are Call Center Agent, Card Dealer, Cashier, Construction Worker and Mason while for overseas employment, the top 5 vacancies are Nurse, Waiter, Room Attendant, Cook and Waitress.

DOLE 2 Regional Director, Manuel C. Roldan, encouraged interested job seekers to go to the venue of the Job Fair early to avoid hassles like long queuing

Dir. Manuel is advising interested applicants to bring their Resume, ID pictures, Transcript of Records and or Diploma, Clearances, Training and Employment Certificates if any, and passport if available for overseas employment applicants.  He likewise said that there will be no charging of any fee like application, entrance, and registration.

Job Fair is one of the special programs of DOLE in partnership with Public Employment Service Offices, other government agencies, academic institutions, local and overseas employers, and non-government agencies.  It is a tool to fast-tract employment by bringing together employers/ recruitment agencies and jobseekers in one venue at a specific date in order to reduce cost, time and effort on the part of jobseekers and employers.

Labor Day is yearly celebrated every May 1 to give honor to all workers nationwide.  “The theme for this year’s celebration is Matatag na Kabuhayan at Trabaho Tungo sa Progresibong Pagbabago.

This year, the Job Fair in Tuguegrao City is in partnership with the City Government of Tuguearao.


To cater job seekers in Isabela, another Job Fair is slated to be conducted on 1 May 2017 at LGU-Ilagan City.    (END/RBE)
